In a capitalist world one might argue that workers right has been compromised for the interest of big bosses , and this is a fact which no one could deny, however history proved that even communist or socialist ideologies or system equally failed to stand up for workers right.

Perhaps the human greed is the essence for capitalism, therefore no ideology could force those in power to create a just society. Reading the socialist books which carefully have designed the manifest  for a socialist society makes me wonder if in reality people could have get along with each other, perhaps we wouldn’t witness human suffering from hunger or diseases.

But the reality is in contrast with what has been written in socialist books and articles, and is no way denying that this fact was the cause for fall of socialism.

How ever first of May became A symbolic day for the workers all around the world, and in some cases to remind workers how invisible they are within the society they live, the society which denies their right in so many cases.

1st of May is known as European Spring celebration, and also International Workers’ Day (also known as May Day) is a celebration of the international labour movement and left-wing movements. On this day commonly we see organized street demonstrations and marches by working people and their labour unions throughout most of the world. May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries. It is also celebrated unofficially in many other countries.

In Iran it is not a public holiday but according to article 63 of Iranian labour law on top of the official public holidays observed in  the Islamic Republic of Iran, Labour Day should be considered an official holiday for workers.

In past 38 years Iranian workers never had the right to have street demonstrations or marches, and sometimes if they gathered at some group meeting or street rallies, police immediately interfere and breaks up the rallies , another word workers have no legal right to rally in streets of Iran to ask for their rights.

We all knew International Workers’ Day is the commemoration of the 1886 Haymarket Massacre in Chicago, when Chicago police fired on workers during a general strike for the eight hour workday, killing several demonstrators and resulting in the deaths of several police officers, largely from friendly fire. In 1889, the first congress of the Second International, meeting in Paris for the centennial of the French Revolution and the Exposition Universelle, following a proposal by Raymond Lavigne, called for international demonstrations on the 1890 anniversary of the Chicago protests. May Day was formally recognized as an annual event at the International’s second congress in 1891.

In many countries, the working classes sought to make May Day an official holiday, and their efforts largely succeeded. May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist and anarchist groups. In some circles, bonfires are lit in commemoration of the Haymarket martyrs, usually at dawn. May Day has been an important official holiday in Communist countries such as the People’s Republic of China, Cuba and the former Soviet Union. May Day celebrations typically feature elaborate popular and military parades in these countries.

The red flag is a symbolic flag and often used at workers day rallies, socialist or communist rallies, especially on International Workers’ Day. In politics, a red flag is a symbol of socialism, communism, and left-wing politics; it has been associated with left-wing politics since the French Revolution (1789–99).
